The Town of SavusavuSavusavu is a picturesque town in Savusavu Bay and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Fiji. It is known for its natural hot springs and friendly people. It also has a large expatriate community.Many yachts and cruises that visit Fiji, visit Savusavu's Harbour especially in peak sailing season from May to October. Savusavu's yacht club hosts a number of regattas throughout the year and makes the harbour and marina full of life and colour. There are a number of flights to Savusavu. There are direct daily flights from Nadi and Suva, with connecting flights on to Taveuni. The airport was closed for four months during 2008 for improvements to the runway and airport facilities. It reopened on 6th December 2008.
